If you think it’s cold outside; stop being soft because it’s going to get even colder. Overnight, temperatures fell as low as -20C in Braemar, Aberdeenshire and -7C in Birmingham.
Gatwick Airport has reopened after two days of closure, but passengers are warned of delays and cancellations. Southern and Southeastern rail have reduced services, trains in East Yorkshire are cancelled, and there are virtually no services north of Glasgow.
It must be time to wrap up warm then, with some promotional hats, gloves, fleeces and scarves from Gift Selection and Promostore. You can get your promotional...

It doesn’t seem that long ago that snow was falling, but it’s back again with the country set to fall into a mad panic.
Hundreds of schools are shut in Scotland, Northern Ireland, the north-east of England and Cornwall, with ice and heavy snow causing travel chaos. Newcastle airport has reopened after suspending flights, but Durham Tees Valley airport remains closed.
White-out conditions have affected main roads in Scotland and there are warnings of dangerously icy roads in Wales, with more snow forecast. Thunder and lightning storms have also caused power cuts in Cornwall. The Local Government...

We love bespoke promotional products here, and we have noticed that Brylcreem has launched a limited-edition cricket-themed pack to coincide with the start of this winter’s Ashes Test series in Australia.
While the men’s hairstyling brand is not an official sponsor of the England cricket team, batsman Kevin Pietersen has been the brand’s ‘Brylcreem Boy’ since last year.
The red cricket ball-shaped tub, created by Echo, carries Pietersen’s signature and contains a new product called Brylcreem Paste. The variant will be on sale from 25 November, the day after the first Ashes Test match...

We love seasonal promotional items here at the Gift Selection office. Coca-Cola is launching a two-pronged Christmas TV ad campaign next month, bringing back its “Holidays are coming” commercial before unveiling a new execution called “Snow globe”.
The first ad will air from 12 November for a month, before the new ad, which has been created by McCann in Madrid, makes its debut on 13 December. “Snow globe” depicts a number of people who are clearly lonely and away from loved ones: a young man working late in a grocery store; a couple sitting on opposite ends of a park...

In the world of marketing and promotions, there isn’t much more important than one’s logo.
The logo for the 2014 Winter Olympics, to be held in Sochi, Russia, was unveiled, becoming the first Olympic emblem to feature a web address. I must admit that I’d never heard of Sochi, but I prefer this logo to London’s confused looking emblem for 2012.
Their brand consultancy is carried out by Interbrand, with their organising committee featuring key figures from sport, branding and marketing, and the arts – strangely enough I wasn’t consulted. The word “sochi.ru” appears...

It seems the snow keeps on falling, to the frustration of millions of motorists around the United Kingdom. The latest victims were around 200 people that had to be rescued by emergency crews in Devon, after spending hours trapped in their snowed in vehicles.
The hostages were stuck at the A38 at Haldon Hill, near Exeter, at about 9:00PM after the weather suddenly took a turn for the worst. With the Met Office predicted that parts of the UK will receive eight inches (20cm) of snow forecast in places, now is the perfect time to roll out your winter promotional products.
Promotional clothing such...

It was the coldest day of the year last night, as I’m sure many of you noticed – with some parts of the country reaching a painfully cold -11 degrees. We didnt quite manage to get snow on Christmas Day, but it looks like we are set to make up for lost time. With this mind, there isn’t a better time to invest in some promotional clothing your client’s and staff wont ever want to take off.
One site that has some great quality personalised clothing is ecoproducts2order, where a range of personalised winter clothes are...

When customers receive a well chosen promotional gift, they feel appreciated and have feeling of good will toward that business. To highlight this principle, I’ve picked out a case study that shows just how powerful the effects of corporate gifts can be. This particular case was done by a chap called Darrell Marriot for a resort lodge in Vermont, but the same principles can apply to your business too.
Every year, the luxury resort, offers a special holiday package at a premium price between Christmas and New Year. In previous years the resort failed to achieve a single...

A new ‘winter wonderland’ has opened for business, but has left many feeling out in the cold. The Lapland New Forest’s (at Matchams Leisure Park on the Hampshire-Dorset border) website promises much with snowy scenes and the promise of real log cabins, nativity scenes, a bustling Christmas market, husky dogs and other animals. The site goes on to “assure you of an absolutely magical scene, just look how real and cold the snow appears to be.”
Reports in the media from around the country, indicate that the public have been left somewhat disappointed. In reality for your £25, you have the...
